After a fiery Saturday for Milanese rail transport, a new fault has affected the infrastructure, bringing commuters to their knees. According to what was reported on the RFI website, on the morning of Monday 13 January a malfunction occurred in the electricity line between the Lodi and Tavazzano stations with important repercussions on all train circulation, in particular on the Milan-Lodi route.
There were several cancellations and changes, but also delays. The technical problem was encountered around 11.20am on the Milan-Piacenza line, but the situation at 1pm is still the same. Trains delayed up to 70 minutes, plus further delays on a second line, the one between Milan and Venice due to an investment in the tracks.
Traffic on the route was re-established around 3pm although the repercussions on rail traffic were significant and had consequences throughout the afternoon.
